Kate & Ryan

Oh my goodness, where do I start? First of all, my best friend’s little sister, Kate, is ENGAGED. Second, Ryan is really awesome (plus he’s a photographer- one more person I get to nerd out with). And third, they live in California and their wedding is going to be amazing. I can’t wait!

This was my first time in Los Angeles, so I mostly relied on Kate and Ryan’s suggestions of where to take photos. Since Ryan is a fellow creative, I knew I could trust his ideas. We started out in the Arts District of downtown L.A., which is a mecca of street art and unique industrial backdrops. I was a kid in a candy store seeing the potential for amazing photos at every turn!

We then made our way to Vista Hermosa Natural Park, a little hidden gem with a fantastic view of the downtown L.A. skyline. The photos we were able to get there are some of my favorite couples photos I’ve taken. As you can see, Kate and Ryan are very photogenic to begin with (like most photographers, Ryan was initially uncomfortable on the other side of the camera. But he pushed through and did a really amazing job). Plus, Kate couldn’t have picked a better dress. (I mean, c’mon). So combine that with a perfect city view on a gorgeous California summer night… magic.
