Let me just start by saying that I’ve pretty much only ever dreamed about doing a session like this. Lucky for me, Savannah and Traves had a bold vision and I’m happy they chose me to help bring it to life! They originally envisioned photos in the woods on a beautiful snowy day. Well, in typical Cleveland winter fashion, it was about 60 degrees on every single day in January/February that we planned to shoot. And of course, on every other day we couldn’t shoot, it was a magical-snow-globe-worthy-wintery-wonderland outside. *insert eyeroll emoji* These two rolled with it though, and in place of a snowy backdrop, we went with white studio brick walls instead. We even got some cool shots against the black studio wall with some great window light streaming in. The photo I used as the featured image for this blog post might just be my favorite engagement session photo I’ve taken yet. Someone told me they look like superheros in that photo, and you know what? I can’t disagree.
I had big plans to take some photos downtown on a Cleveland rooftop, but intense lake effect winds squashed that idea after about 3 seconds standing on the 12th story of the parking garage. So we grabbed some quick shots inside the garage before heading over to the Cleveland Arcade where Savannah and Traves will be saying “I do” in about 8 months.
Can’t wait to work with these two again on their wedding day this December! I’m really pulling for them to finally get their snowy winter day!
