The best thing about my job is that my clients often become my friends. These two are no exception. Jess and Evan are so laid back and easy to be around, not to mention, their total adoration for each other was so evident throughout this entire day. We started the day at Jess’s home where she grew up for some getting ready shots. At the church, Jess and Evan opted for a “first hand holding” instead of a first look, which was one of the cutest moments I’ve witnessed as a wedding photographer. As they stood on each side of a pillar holding hands unable to see each other, I asked them, “what is the one thing you are most looking forward to about today?” In unison they both said, “ the first dance!” In case they needed last minute confirmation that they were meant to be, they got it.
It was a gorgeous sunny day. We grabbed some photos on the grounds of the Cleveland Museum of Art before heading downtown for some classic Cleveland shots on East 4th Street. I didn’t take into account the hoards of people that would be on East 4th on an afternoon of an Indian’s home game, but we made it work! At one point there may or may not have been an inebriated man in a tie-dye shirt who totally photobombed my perfect shot… (scroll to find out for yourself).
The reception was at the House of Blues, complete with record themed decorations, good music, and a packed dance floor all night long.
Congrats Mr. & Mrs. Barry!
